The NSA of the United States has gained insight in the policy-making and political systems of Mexico through successfully gaining access to the Mexican Presidents, President Felipe Calderon’s, public email account.  The account contained diplomatic, economic and leadership communications.

NSA reports show that in May 2010 the TAO, the division of the NSA responsible for the more ‘difficult’ missions, reported that they had accomplished to hack the email account of the Mexican President.

The NSA report states:

“TAO successfully exploited a key mail server in the Mexican Presidencia domain within the Mexican Presidential network to gain first-ever access to President Felipe Calderon’s public email account.”
